About Good Matches

Good Matches is an event production & design company specializing in corporate events, brand activations, high-end private celebrations, and non-profit fundraisers. We create experiences that feel thoughtful, elevated, and culturally relevant—and we care deeply about how people connect with each other when they’re inside our events & experiences.

Our values guide everything we do:

  • Experimentation: We’re curious, brave, and willing to try new ideas.

  • Excellence: Details matter. Taste matters. Execution matters.

  • Connection: Events are about people—clients, guests, partners, and our team.

We’re building a collaborative and creative team, and we’re looking for an Event Producer who is excited to grow with us.

We are a studio that makes things and makes things happen. We don’t want to spend our whole day on computers, emails, and Slack. Creating magical events and experiences requires rigorous play, tinkering, and building. Our studio is in the Old American Can Factory, an artist building in Gowanus, and we treat it like a laboratory for how people can gather.

The Role

The Event Producer is a key creative and operational lead on projects, responsible for taking events from concept through execution. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects independently, and enjoys collaborating with clients, creatives, and production partners.

You’ll be hands-on—from early planning and budgeting to on-site execution—helping bring bold ideas to life while maintaining a calm, organized presence behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

Event Production & Project Management

  • Lead event production from kickoff through breakdown

  • Manage timelines, run-of-show documents, and production schedules

  • Oversee budgets, vendor estimates, and cost tracking

  • Coordinate logistics including load-in/load-out, staffing, rentals, and permits

  • Oversee contractors, interns, and volunteers

Creative & Client Collaboration

  • Partner with internal team and clients to translate creative vision into execution

  • Contribute ideas during brainstorming and concept development

  • Serve as a client-facing point of contact on assigned projects

  • Maintain high standards of taste, detail, discretion, and professionalism

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendors (AV, fabrication, catering, florals, entertainment, etc.)

  • Build strong relationships with venues and production partners

  • Ensure all vendors are aligned, briefed, and delivering on expectations

On-Site Execution

  • Act as a calm, confident leader on event days

  • Manage crews, schedules, and last-minute changes

  • Troubleshoot in real time while keeping the guest experience seamless

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience producing events (agency or in-house)

  • Experience across corporate events, brand activations, private events, and/or fundraisers

  • Proven ability to manage projects independently

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Comfort working in fast-moving, creative environments

  • Willingness to work nights and weekends - and travel - as required by event schedules

  • NYC-based available for in-person work

  • Bachelors Degree preferred

You’re a Great Fit If You…

  • Love both the creative and operational sides of events

  • Take pride in details and execution

  • Are proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented

  • Enjoy collaborating with smart, creative people

  • Want to help shape the culture of a growing events company

  • Excited to build an in-person studio

Why Work at Good Matches?

  • Opportunity to work on high-profile, creatively ambitious events
